What it's forPhotos make work orders, inspections and records faster and clearer. Everywhere StrataWorx asks for photos you get the same two buttons, and your photos are made smaller and cleaned of location data before they are sent.
Who it's forEveryone who logs work orders, inspections, compliance items, invoices or documents, and residents and contractors using their links.
Step by step
- Step 1: Take photo or Choose photosTake photo opens your phone's camera. Choose photos opens your photo library, or a file picker on a computer, and lets you pick several. Each photo shows as a thumbnail; press the cross to remove one.
- Step 2: Photos are made smaller, and location is removedBefore sending, each photo is re-saved as a JPEG with its long side at most 2000 pixels. This also removes hidden data such as the GPS location and camera details, so a resident's or manager's home location is never kept.
- Step 3: Work orders and repairsOn a new work order, a work order's Photos & files, a resident's request, or a contractor's update link, add up to 6 photos. Contractors choose whether they are before or after the work. Staff can download a Work order sheet (PDF) with the photos.
- Step 4: Snap an invoiceOn Invoices (or a work order's invoices) take a photo of each page of a paper invoice. The pages become one PDF and StrataWorx reads the supplier, number and amounts from the pictures. Check the details; it still waits in Pending for a person to approve.
- Step 5: Compliance certificates and PM completionOn a compliance deadline's Edit form, or when completing a servicing visit, add a photo of the certificate or the test sticker. It is filed against the record.
- Step 6: Scan a documentIn Library, Add a document, take 1 to 10 photos of a signed paper document. They become one PDF in the library, with the same permissions and audit trail as an upload.
Tips
- Hold the phone square to the page and use good light for invoices and certificates.
- Photos are limited to about 4.5 MB in total per send. If a send is refused, remove a photo or two.
- Photos are stored privately and opened only with short-lived links or a permission-checked page.
Common problems
Take photo just opens a file picker on my computer.
That is normal on a computer: it has no camera button. Use Choose photos, or open StrataWorx on your phone.
My photo was refused.
Only real pictures are accepted (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or HEIC). If your browser can't read a HEIC photo, take it again with the camera button or choose a JPEG.
